Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital is undergoing a $17.4 million renovation, which includes an expansion of its emergency department.
Tomball Regional Medical Center is also undergoing a $4.5 million ER expansion project that will add 3,100 square feet to the hospital’s emergency department, including two dedicated trauma rooms and seven new treatment rooms, in addition to the expansion of the parking lot.
“This period of growth in the community is just amazing and we don’t see it slowing down anytime soon,” Tom Jackson, CEO of Tomball Regional Medical Center told Tamra Santana of Houston Chronicle. “With the Grand Parkway coming in and new communities being planned, the expansion will definitely prepare us for the increased population growth.”
Projected for completion in 2017, construction of the all new Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is currently underway. The 470,000 square foot, 193 bed medical institution is being built just south of I-45 and Texas 242.
Also slated to open in 2017 is Texas Children’s new pediatric community hospital in The Woodlands. With 548,000 square feet, the facility will offer inpatient and outpatient specialty care for the children.
