Cypress Stay-At-Home-Dad, James Ramey, SLAYS Wheel of Fortune

James Ramey works from home as a full time dad taking care of four children under the age of 7. The youngest isn’t even a year old and the oldest is 6. “It’s everything I can do to keep up with them, to be honest with you,” he says.

James, Leah, and their four adorable kids, Christmas 2014.

Leah is usually the one who brings home the bacon, but this past weekend, James hit the motherload.

On Tuesday night, Wheel of Fortune fans across the nation saw James solved 7 out of 8 of the game show’s word puzzles, raking in $50,000 and a vacation to Ireland.

At first, James was a little nervous to solve the first puzzle, since that would mean he’d be the first contestant to chat with show host, Pat Sajack. But once he loosened up, James started solving puzzles again and again and again.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I mean, even to this point right now it hasn’t fully set in that that has actually happened; that I won. I knew anything could happen. I was just doing my best and God willing, everything kind of fell into place, you know?”

The show was filmed three months ago in March. So, after leaving the studio in stunned disbelief, James and Leah faced the difficult challenge of not telling anyone what had happened until after the show aired. They told the kids that their daddy would appear on TV, but they couldn’t tell them he’d won, in case they spilled the beans to friends and family.

After what must have seemed like forever, they’re now finally able to talk. The family hopes to vacation in Ireland next year. Meanwhile, James is at home with his adorable children, busy being an awesome dad.
