Prominent Texas business investor, Sid Bass, has become a partner with Blue Bell Ice Cream. The philanthropist – who also notably donated $25 million to the Metropolitan Opera in 2006 – may be just the answer to many Texan’s prayers for their favorite ice cream brand to get out of the lurch.
“We are pleased Sid Bass has made a significant investment with our company,” said Paul Kruse, Blue Bell CEO and President. “The additional capital will ensure the successful return of our ice cream to the market and our loyal customers.”
Sid graduated from Yale University and Stanford Graduate School of Business before joining his family’s business in the O&G and carbon black industry, where he’s still very active. He’s also managed long-term investments and worked closely with management teams an numerous companies including Disney.
“We are excited to be a part of the Blue Bell brand and family” Sid said. “Blue Bell is the quality leader in the ice cream industry. We believe quality is the principle attribute that ensures the success, growth and longevity of a business.”
