The Tomball Police Department is marking their 11th year touring Tomball area assisted living, nursing, retirement, and medical facilities with Blue Santa and his crew of Tomball Police Elves.
“The joy in making these visits during the holiday season and seeing the delight in the faces of the residents, long term and short term, as well as the staff, is a very rewarding experience,” Tomball PD said in a recent press release.
The residents who benefit are permanent or temporary patients in the facilities. They’re greeted with gifts and visits from graduates of the TPD Citizens Police Academy, and Volunteer Members of Police Services.
Each resident has their photo taken with Blue Santa to keep as a memento of their visit. On the wall in each room, you are sure to find the photos of all their special Christmas greetings with Blue Santa.
“Donations of new or in like new condition stuffed animals are made to the department by our wonderful community members and organizations, including Boy Scout & Girl Scout Troops, Tomball ISD, and private donors).”
Community support has helped make events such as this possible by donating throughout the year. For more information please contact program coordinator Sergeant Rebecca Carlisle at (281) 290-1312 or email her here.
