Chicken nuggets are a big favorite with my little munchkins, as they are with most kids, so when I hear about plastic bits and metal fragments embedded in them, that causes some concern.
Perdue Foods of Georgia has just recalled 4,530 pounds of chicken nuggets, produced for the brand Applegate Farms, that may be contaminated with “extraneous plastic material.”
Products in question are 8 oz. boxed packs which contain about 18 pieces of Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets each. They bear the Best Before Date of 09/27/2016. These products should also bear the number P-2617 inside the USDA mark of inspection. The nuggets were sold in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, and Texas.
But wait, there’s more!
38-ounce / 2.975-lb boxes of Yummy brand Chicken Breast Nuggets with a Best If Used By 07/17/17 date are also being recalled, but these contain metal fragments. Yikes!
Yummy Chicken Nugget recalled products bear the code, Canada Est. 348 and UPC number 064563225782. They were sold nationwide via retailers such as Kroger, Wal-Mart, and Safeway.
