UPDATE 1/18/17: Despite earlier news that former President George H.W. Bush was doing well and recovering, we have learned that he has now been admitted to the intensive care unit at Houston’s Methodist Hospital. The 92 year old Bush is suffering from pneumonia and respiratory issues.
In a worrisome turn of events, spokesman Jim McGrath now says that Bush’s wife, Barbara Bush, has also been hospitalized after the former First Lady experienced fatigue and coughing. She is 91.
Both George and Barbara Bush are said to be resting comfortably. The couple celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on Friday, January 6.
Original Post: Former president George H.W. Bush was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital yesterday. Doctors are still trying to determine what caused his ailment, but we are told he is responding well to treatment and is expected to return home in a few days.
Bush’s Chief of Staff Jean Becker said, “He’s fine and he’s doing really well.”
At 92 years of age, former president Bush has had his share of health issues in recent years. May God bless him with speedy recovery and comfort his wife family.
