In-N-Out Burger, the famed California fast food haven, is rumored to be closing on at least one plot of land in the Houston area. Jazz Hamilton, VP of Retail Brokerage Services at CBRE confirmed the rumor but refused to disclose the location. Apparently, plans are still in their infancy, but the restaurant is expected to open this year.
“While it’s true we are evaluating additional opportunities in Texas, including Houston,” Carl Van Fleet, VP of In-N-Out Burger’s Planning and Development, told FOX 26, “we are still in the very, very early stages of that process.”
Closing on land seems pretty conclusive to us though.
“You’ll see them come in quietly,” Jazz said. “All of a sudden, they’ll start building all at once.”
To ascertain exactly what is so amazing about In-N-Out Burger, we decided to interview a real Californian concerning the fast food restaurant she grew up with. Here’s our interview with Deanna Marquez of Ventura:
Q. What’s your favorite thing about In-N-Out Burger?
A. Just one?! Ok, that is tough! I love the classic look it has along with the cute outfits the servers wear. It’s very unique and set apart in that way. Anytime you walk in one, you will always feel excited because you know for a fact, the food that you order is going to be amazing!
Q. What makes In-N-Out different from other fast food hamburger places?
A. Everything is prepared fresh including the French fries. I also really love the fact that they pay above minimum wage and offer benefits to the employees. They are also super clean and have very fast service.
Q. What’s your favorite menu item?
A. Oh gosh! That is hard. How about what I would order right now? A cheeseburger animal style, fries, and a Neapolitan shake.
Q. What is “animal style”?
Extra spread with grilled onions. If you get it on the fries, it’s that plus cheese.
Q. Favorite In-N-Out memory?
A. We would go there a lot growing up right in Ventura near the beach. It was the perfect food after a beach day.
Q. What’s a little known fact about In-N-Out that you think Texans should know about?
A. They are loved dearly by all Californians. If you don’t like them, just don’t mention that to anyone from California. Haha! They also have Bible verses on the bottom of the soda cups and a secret menu you can order from! You can view that info on their website.
