This Houston Roofer Just Won An Award Only 2% Roofers Won Nationwide

Well, this is pretty darn cool.  For the third year in a row, Houston roofer 1st Choice Roofing & Construction has won a very prestigious award. It’s the Versico Gold Medal Quality Award, and it’s not an easy award to get. In fact, in 2016 only 17 Texas roofers, and 2% of Versico installers nationwide won the honor.

In order to even qualify for the award, a roofer must have installed over 50,000 square feet of inspected and warrantied roofing materials for at least three consecutive years. That’s over 150,000 square feet of roofing, and 1st Choice Roofing blew by that number a while back. They’ve installed hundreds upon hundreds of commercial roofs and over 2,000 residential roofs in the Houston area.

“Contractors are nominated for this award by our field service inspectors based upon the quality of installation, response time, overall workmanship, and professionalism,” explains Jay Rodriguez, Vice President of Market Makers. “Last year we had a total of 17 contractors in the State of Texas receive this award, and less than two percent of our contractors nationwide have received this award.”

In addition to this great news, 1st Choice Roofing & Construction has announced the opening of their brand new headquarters in North Houston. The Greater Houston roofer is now located at 9421 FM 2920 Bldg. 20, Tomball, TX 77375.

“We’re extremely honored to win this award a third year in a row,” says Chris Rochester, co-owner of 1stChoice Roofing & Construction. “We put our money where our mouth is and built our own building. I think that says a lot about how much we trust our team and the level of pride we take in their work. Like our new headquarters, this award is a testament to the high level of quality roofing we deliver.”

While 1st Choice’s Residential Team serves all of Greater Houston, their Commercial Team serves Greater Houston to Dallas to Austin to San Antonio, and surrounding areas.

“We’re very blessed to be in a community that’s growing quickly,” says Martin Morales, co-owner. “Although Houston is a huge city, we’ve still got a tight-knit community attitude. That’s evidenced by the fact that 1stChoice’s business is built almost entirely on word of mouth. People here appreciate hard work and consistent quality. They refer their friends to solid local companies like us.”

Indeed. One thing really interesting about 1st Choice is that they work hard to train their team in-house. You won’t catch them outsourcing work or hiring sub-par or untrained installers. Each of their team members is a qualified individual who receives training from 1st Choice, and ongoing training to ensure they’re up-to-date on the latest roofing products, installation techniques, and technology. A local Houston roofer, they’re also fully insured, certified by Versico and CertainTeed, and offer competative warranties and affordable financing.

“1st Choice’s new headquarters in Tomball feature an expansive warehouse, conference rooms, offices, a stock yard, and a new training facility,” says Chris. “We’re particularly proud of the training facility. One of the ways we guarantee exemplary customer service and workmanship is by continually training our teams in-house. No matter how extensive or minor the project, we keep our team up on the latest products, techniques, and building codes. It’s not just about installing a storm-proof roof. It’s about constantly building upon our skills and experience levels. A roof is only as strong as its weakest component. Just so, everyone on our team has to be strong.”
