Texas: How To Donate Blood To Las Vegas Shooting Victims

Many Texans have asked how to donate blood to victims of the recent Las Vegas music festival massacre. We did our research and here’s what we found.

According to blood donation centers across Texas, Las Vegas hospitals are receiving ample donations of blood to meet needs following the music festival shooting late last night. However, Texas organizations remain on standby to donate blood to Las Vegas should a need develop.

Meanwhile, there are many people throughout Texas who are in urgent need of blood. So, whether your blood donation goes to a Las Vegas shooting victim, or a fellow Texan in need, your donation would be greatly appreciated and could save lives.

Where To Donate Blood:

The Blood Center has locations throughout many cities in Texas cities where you can donate blood. Today the organization tweeted, “Prayers for Las Vegas. We have not been asked to send blood but are prepared. Donors can ensure strong area supply so we may help if needed.”

Please check out The Blood Center’s website for locations, walk-in clinics, and appointment scheduling.

We Are Blood, which has blood donation locations in Austin and Roundrock, posted on Facebook, “We awoke this morning to devastating news out of Las Vegas, where the deadliest mass shooting in US history occurred overnight.

“We’ve already begun to see a huge outpouring of support from our local community members who, as always, want to do anything they can to help our neighbors across the country. However, at this time, Las Vegas blood banks have confirmed there is no additional need for blood from surrounding states. Local Nevada communities are coming together to ensure their blood supply needs continue to be met, and they have not needed to request additional support.

“We will update Central Texans if anything changes but, for now, your donations will continue going toward our local blood supply. We love and appreciate all our donors, and hope to see you in the coming months for your regularly scheduled donations.”
